At the invitation of Howard Brinton, he was a "STAR PANELIST" at
the National Association of Realtors Convention in Miami and at
subsequent Star Power programs from 1994 through the present..
John has spoken on technology, marketing and advanced sales
techniques.
February 1992 he was SELECTED a "STAR PANELIST" on National Real
Estate Trainer Joe Strumpf's SUPER STAR PANEL.
John has been active in leasehold reform since 1975. In May
1992, he was elected a DIRECTOR of the Hale Coalition, an
organization dedicated to promoting single family and
condominium leasehold reform laws.
In November 1994, John was interviewed by the Cable News Network
(CNN) regarding Hawaii's leasehold system and appeared on CNN's
Money Line.
Every year since November 1993 John has been selected and
invited by Bill Barrett, Bill Barrett Seminars, to attend
brainstorming sessions at the National Association of Realtors
Convention of the Top 50 real estate agents in North America.
Those invited represent the Top 1/10th of 1% of all real estate
agents in North America.
May 1994 through 1996, John was selected by Walter Sanford,
Sanford Systems to be on a panel composed of the top real estate
agents in the world. John appeared on the panel with the top
Century 21, ReMax , ERA and independent producers in the world.
Other speakers at the conferences included Tony Robbins, Paul
Pilzer, Depok Chopra, Lou Holtz and Stephen Covey.
February 1995, Weyerhaeuser Mortgage of Hawaii and Fidelity
National Escrow and Title at a Super Star Forum recognized John
as the top producing agent in Hawaii. Other stars on the forum
were from Coldwell Banker, Prudential and independent real
estate companies.
May 1995, John was elected a Director of the growing Villages of
Kapolei Association with more than 2700 households, 14 employees
and an annual budget in excess of $1.5 million. John has been
reelected to the Board of Directors and has served on various
committees including covenants, fair housing, personnel, budget,
recreation, strategic planning and traffic.
In July 1998, he was elected to served as President, Board of
Directors, Villages of Kapolei Association, where he routinely
met, planned, interacted and problem solved with the Governor’s
Office, legislative members, state, city & county officials,
business and civic groups, Campbell Estate and members of the
association. He was instrumental in having the association
documents and newsletter being placed online at
www.villagesofkapolei.com.
March 1996, at the request of KGMB-TV, the CBS affiliate in
Hawaii, John was the guest "real estate expert" each week on "AM
Hawaii" to report and answer "live" viewer questions on real
estate issues and trends.
July 1999, John was selected to serve as a member of the Parish
Counsel, St Jude’s Catholic Church.
January 1999 and each subsequent year, John has helped represent
the Hawaii Association of Realtors during Legislative Day at the
Hawaii State Legislature. As such, John visits our state
legislators, discusses issues and provides solutions to problems
confronting property owners.
Over the years, John has also served on various committees of
the Honolulu Board of Realtors and Hawaii Association of
Realtors. Some of the committees include Multiple Listing
Service, Research, IDX/VOWS, Convention and Strategic Planning.
March 2002, John became the Chairperson of the Stewardship
Committee, St Jude’s Catholic Church that plans and over sees
all fund raising events for the church. He also served as a
co-chair and major sponsor of the Annual St Jude’s Catholic
Church Golf Tournament.
